The Doughy Dog

The Doughy Dog

In 2007 Arundel House of Hope was one of six organizations selected out of forty applicants to participate in the University of Baltimore’s Social Enterprise training program. This program paired non-profits with the University’s business students with the goal of developing an actionable business plan with which to launch a social enterprise.

The project initiated by AHOH is The Doughy Dog, a mobile coffee and lunch business specializing in fresh, hot, miniature doughnuts and hot dogs located strategically at AHOH’s member church organizations and partnering with Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, Harundale Presbyterian Church, and First Presbyterian Church of Annapolis. In addition to doughnuts The Doughy Dog will serve coffee, gourmet hot dogs, snacks, sandwiches, and cold drinks. This will assure that a number of positions are available within the business, not just in customer service, but also in food preparation and culinary opportunities, maintenance related roles, and management positions.

With a drive up and order component it will operate every day of the week providing quality products to the Anne Arundel County community and employment for up to ten homeless individuals.

The Doughy Dog is available for catering, so keep The Doughy Dog in mind for upcoming parties or group meetings as The Doughy Dog now offers caterering services. Contact Phil Bailey at 410-863-4888 or email pbailey@arundelhoh.org.
