We are thrilled to welcome Pam Biddlecomb back as the Winter Relief Coordinator. As a former volunteer and staff member, Pam is very familiar with Arundel House of Hope and our mission to end homelessness in Anne Arundel County. As the W.R. coordinator she will be working directly with host sites to ensure a positive experience both for volunteers and W.R. guests.
Below Pam shares more about herself:
“Winter Relief has been my passion since my husband and I began working with the program as site coordinators at Calvary UMC in Annapolis. I later became a Segment Coordinator supporting other sites, and in 2012 started volunteering at the WR Site 3 Intake Center at the Light House Shelter. In 2014, I became the coordinator of the Annapolis Site 3 Intake Center at Trinity UMC. I became the coordinator of Winter Relief and Director of the Day Center during the 25th anniversary of the founding of Winter Relief. I continued in that position until Covid hit, and the world turned upside down! Winter Relief was extended in 2020, and we hosted our guests at Bay Area Community Church with the help of many volunteers who were unable to physically attend work due to the pandemic. On May 1, 2020, the Winter Relief program transitioned into an Alternative Shelter at the Red Roof Inn in Annapolis. I assisted in the development of the Alternative Shelter and ran the hotel until the end of August 2021.
It is an honor to return to AHOH to coordinate Winter Relief. I have missed supporting our less fortunate friends and hosting sites. I continue to feel called to this ministry of outreach and it feels so good to be back! I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, and taking Cooper (my Therapy Dog) out to bring joy to children and adults alike.”
