Bid for Hope Auction Raises Record Amount to Combat Homelessness

Published by Arundel House of Hope Staff Member on

On March 9th, 2025, over 200 community members gathered at our annual Bid for Hope Silent and Live Auction to support our mission of ending homelessness in Ann Arundel County. Your fantastic generosity blew us away!

A Fun Night with a Serious Purpose

The evening was a hit from start to finish. Atlantic Catering provided delicious food that energized everyone for bidding, and we’re thrilled to report that every single item in our silent and live auctions found a new home!

The live auction brought genuine excitement to the room. We saw friendly competition heat up over tickets to see Billy Joel and Sting in concert while sports fans went back and forth bidding on Orioles game tickets and various pieces of sports memorabilia. There’s nothing like a little friendly rivalry for a good cause!

Breaking Our Fundraising Record

We raised over $50,000 for our mission—a record amount for Bid for Hope!

Every dollar raised goes directly to providing shelter, housing, and daily support to vulnerable individuals in our community.

Real Stories, Real Impact

One of the night’s highlights came when Troy, an AHOH staff member who has experienced homelessness firsthand, shared his story. His straightforward talk about resilience and how AHOH was there when he needed help most reminded everyone why we do this work. Sometimes, the most powerful message is simply hearing from someone who’s been there.

We were also touched by how generous everyone was during our direct ask portion of the evening.

Looking Forward: Bridges to Hope

Your donations also support our ongoing efforts to expand our services. With your help, we’re launching Bridges to Hope, a transitional housing program set to open in late 2025. This new program will provide safe, temporary housing for nine individuals as they work toward stability and independence.

Thank You to Our Amazing Team

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our dedicated committee members, who spent months planning every detail. George Evans for providing wonderful musical entertainment that set the perfect atmosphere, and to our energetic live auctioneer, Patrick O’Neill, who kept the bids flowing and the energy high. We’re grateful to the Elks Lodge for hosting us in their beautiful space and to John and Margie, our silent auction managers, who ensured everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. And lastly, thank you to our event sponsors! Please support them!

Join Our Mission

Again, thank you for your generous support. Together, we are offering hope and building a stronger community.
