Painting!

In September 17 engaged volunteers and staff members gathered with paintbrushes, cleaning supplies, and determination to spruce up our new office suite. The space, located in the same building as our Day Center, provides flexible facilities for our services including meeting and office space and will be used for the Warming Center Program this winter.

The volunteers did a fabulous job painting, cleaning, and preparing the space and we feel better prepared for the busy winter season ahead. We are thankful for their time and support!

Girl Scouts Serve

Girl Scout Troop 1596 from Odenton choose to focus on the issue of homelessness for their Bronze Award. The Bronze Award is the highest award Jr. Scouts can earn and requires the troop to identify a need in their community and take action.

For their project the scouts made 100 hygiene bags out of recycled t-shirts and filled them with essential personal care items. They then received a tour of the Day Center and were able to ask questions about homelessness, housing instability, and learn more about how Arundel House of Hope assists those in need.

Thank you, Girl Scout Troop 1596, for caring for your community!
