About the Fouse Center

The Fouse Center is a transitional housing program that provides housing and intensive support services for men experiencing homelessness. The goal of The Fouse Center is to empower individuals experiencing homelessness to become independent and self-sufficient.

The Fouse Center is for men who have a history of substance abuse, mental illness, health issues, unemployment, or other life stressors. The Fouse Center offers employment assistance, adult education, sobriety support, health referrals, and more. Individuals work closely with a case manager and resident manager to develop and implement a personal action plan that includes counseling, job preparedness, and other services to reach goals and increase quality of life.  

 Individuals can stay at the Fouse Center for six to twelve months. Upon graduation, some individuals continue to Arundel House of Hope’s Permanent Housing Programs, while others rent their own apartments or even purchase their own homes.  

The Fouse Center has one house that serves up to ten individuals. 

The Fouse Center History

The Fouse Center opened in April of 2001 and was the first transitional housing program for men in Anne Arundel County. The program is named after Jim Fouse, the Founder of Arundel House of Hope and the Winter Relief Shelter Program. Jim was a great friend and advocate for people experiencing homelessness, and the Fouse Center represents his vision. 

Interested in Joining the Fouse Center?

The Fouse Center accepts applicants who are male, at least 18 years old, and committed to becoming independent. All potential clients must be free from drugs and alcohol before being admitted into the program. Individuals must be able to live in a group environment and share a bedroom with a roommate.
